Gunnar has played internationally for 2 countries – his native Sweden and his adopted home of England.
During the 1980s he was a regular member of the Swedish Open team in the European championships.
Since moving, he has won 4 medals at senior level. Chronologically these are:
- 2009 – D’Orsi Bowl – gold medal
- 2010 – The Rand Cup – gold medal
- 2011 – European Transnationals Senior Teams – silver medal
- 2014 – European Seniors – gold medal
- 2016 – European Winter Games – silver medal
- 2018 – European Champions Cup – bronze medal
- 2019 – European Transnationals Open Pairs – bronze medal
- 2022 – World Bridge Games open teams – bronze medal
In addition to this, Gunnar has represented England in the UK Home International Series 15 times – four
times in the Camrose Trophy (Open) and 11 times in the Teltscher Trophy (Seniors). He has won our two
most prestigious domestic teams’ events, the Gold Cup and the Spring Foursomes, three times each.
