Why is a new EBL Master Points Plan needed? |

| EBL MASTER POINTS PLAN 1.1 European Master Points European Master Points (EMP) can be obtained from EBL events only. 1.2 Season The EMP season starts on January 1st of each year and follows the calendar year. 1.3 Categories The categories where EMPs can be earned are:
An award will be given to the first 3 ranked players in each category every second year (the first occasion will be in Antalya 2007). 1.4 EMP ranking lists All players will be in a common ranking list. All EMPs will show the category in which they have been earned.
In case of play offs or knockout, a player must have participated in at least one third of the sessions in all phases of the competition. (If the number of segments is not divisible by three, this quotient will be rounded upwards.) Round robin is to be considered one phase and all knockouts as one phase. 3.1 European Grand Master The title of European Grand Master is given to players who have earned at least 1,000 EMPs or are already WBF Grand Masters. 3.2 European Grand Master To qualify for European Master a player must have acquired 250 EMPs or more. 3.3 European ChampionThe title of European Champion is given to a player who was awarded with an EBL gold medal.
These Regulations may be amended and augmented without prior notice if circumstances so warrant so as to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the EBL MasterPoints Programme. |
