European Master Points (EMP) can be obtained from EBL events only.

1.2 Season

The EMP season starts on January 1st of each year and follows the calendar year.

1.3 Categories

The categories where EMPs can be earned are:

1. EBL Championships in the following categories:
    • Open
• Women
• Senior
• Mixed
• Junior
• Schools
• Girls
2. EBL Festivals
3. EBL Simultaneous Pairs

An award will be given to the first 3 ranked players in each category every second year (the first occasion will be in Antalya 2007).

1.4 EMP ranking lists

All players will be in a common ranking list.

All EMPs will show the category in which they have been earned.

2 - EBL EVENTS

2.1 EMP for results in European Championship events are awarded automatically according to the scales of Tables 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

2.2 In addition, EMP may be awarded in EBL festivals and simultaneous tournaments according to the scales of Tables 6 and 7.
