Under
the auspices of Anna Maria Torlontano The European Women's Bridge Festival is dedicated to the European Women Bridge players of any level and rank. Anna Maria Torlontano, Chairman of the EBL Women's Committee wrote:
"Hotel Jolly proved a wonderful venue for this year's event. We were greeted with welcoming drinks and spent a week in a most friendly atmosphere. Palermo, situated in one of Sicily's most splendid regions was unforgettable. The tamous and enchanting Temples' Valley in Arigento, and the ancient Greek temple in Segesta - one of the world's unique areas - were not missed! Above all, the reason we were there was, of course, bridge. The initial friendly competition after the opening ceremony allowed participants to meet before the more fromal individual and pairs events, and enjoy competing against players from other countries and cultures. The tournaments were of a high standard and thoroughly enjoyed by all participants. The Festival experience was wonderful and the programme
of mixing bridge and tourism proved a great success. Palermo's 'Borzi'
agency must be congratulated on a impeccably organized event that attracted
120 players from 14 countries". |
