 Bridge Team Championship

The 7th European University Teams Championship will be held at the Erasmus University,Sportcomplex Woudestein, Burgemeester Oudlaan 50, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.The competition will start on 12 August 2001 and will be concluded on 19 August 2001.

As on previous occasions, the Championship will take place in the cultural capital of Europe in order to offer the players the possibility to enjoy cultural activities during their week of play.

The cost of stay has been fixed at €315 per player, full-board, for the entire period (7 nights). Accommodation at Zeemanshuis/Maritiem Hotel, Willemskade 13, Rotterdam, in 1/2/3/4 bedrooms

Entries should be submitted before June 30th, 2001, through the NBOs, and payment should be sent in euro to the amount number: 3858.37.658, E. van Strien, Ridderkerk, concerning European University Championship.

The following conditions set by FISU (International Federation of University Sports) apply regarding eligibility of entries. The format will be determined by the EBL.

 • Entry Conditions

1. Allowed to compete are:

  • Students who are officially registered for and pursuing a full time course of study at a university or similar institute whose status as a university is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country;
  • Former students of the institutions referred to above who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event;
  • The team may be formed of students pertaining to different universities.

2. Each competitor must satisfy the following conditions:

  • be a national of the country he represents;
  • be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age on January 1st in the year of the event (born between January 1st 1973 and December 31st 1983 )

3. Individual documentation to submit on arrival:

  • a passport or identity card which shall include full name, nationality, date and place of birth;
  • if a student:
    a student card or certificate originating from the appropriate academic authority certifying that the competitor is officially registered for and pursuing a full-time course of study.
  • if a former student:
    proof of the date he obtained his final academic degree or diploma.
  • All participants must submit a certificate of personal health insurance which would cover all medical cost in case of sickness or accident.

4. In accordance with FISU:

  • The selection of players rests on the National Bridge Federation (NBO)
